Terrible plastic smell.
As other reviewers have mentioned, out of box this case has a strong acrid plastic smell. I think it came from the packaging material used to prop up the case for shipment.

Good case - I recommend
This case is very good. It should read ” leather textured” not textured leather though. the vinyl smell disappears in about 24 hours.

This case is amazing. It’s perfect for what I wanted and needed, at a price I couldn’t beat. It has a horrible odor coming from it, but airing it out should help.

Best I’ve found
I wanted a horizontal case and I DIDN’T want a velcro closure. This is just about the only one available, since Marware inexplicably dropped the magnetic closure.
